Start with the website you already have
Identify the platform, hosting provider, integrations and business-critical functions before choosing support. A brochure website, an online shop and a custom application need different maintenance plans.
Provide a list of required changes and existing access arrangements. The initial review should identify dependencies and separate routine care from a redesign, migration or custom development project.
- Platform and dependency updates where applicable
- Backup ownership and recovery arrangements
- Content change and revision scope
- Critical form, link and checkout checks where included
Make backup and recovery responsibilities explicit
A backup is useful only when the responsible person can locate it and knows the recovery process. Agree on frequency, retention, storage access and which systems are covered. A restoration exercise should use an appropriate safe environment.
If hosting, domains or payment services are managed by another provider, identify that dependency in the support plan. A website support agreement does not automatically give control over every connected service.
Compare the ongoing cost clearly
Request a GBP quotation based on the platform, expected changes and support needs. Separate hosting, third-party licences, large development changes and any out-of-hours requirements from routine maintenance.
Delloweb is based in Pakistan. Agree on communication times, how urgent issues are raised, and the actual response arrangements before the support service starts.
Common questions
Can you maintain a website built by someone else?
The team needs to review the platform, code, hosting and available access first. Compatibility, dependencies and the proposed support scope should be confirmed before accepting the work.
Are redesigns and new features included in maintenance?
Only if the agreement includes them. Routine care, content updates, redesigns and new integrations should have distinct scope and pricing.
What should a maintenance quotation include?
It should identify the covered platform, update and backup responsibilities, content-change allowance, reporting, support arrangements, external charges and handover terms.
